times since 1st Nov, 2011Vajrasattva is an extremely significant deity who is considered both a Buddha and a bodhisattva. He is nearly always depicted elaborately bedecked with ornaments in his sambhogakaya or body of bliss form. In Tibetan Lama Lineages he is looked upon as the primordial teacher of Dharma. Vajrasattva is also considered by the Newars of Kathmandu to be the priest of the five Dhyani Buddhas. In fact, during worship, the bell and dorje are held by priests in the same manner as they are here by Vajrasattva.
